Korea Exchange Bank originally came to Canada in 1981, offering a full range of financial services to Korean businesses and immigrants. Since then, the Bank has evolved and expanded its focus to serve all Canadians. In 2015, after a successful merger with the Hana Financial Group, the Bank changed its name to KEB Hana Bank Canada. KEB Hana Bank is the largest domestic bank in Korea, but it also boasts an extensive overseas network with more than 1200 offices in 25 countries. Its 11 branches in Canada serve the Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Richmond communities.
KEB Hana Bank of Canada wanted to create an additional location in B.C. to serve their growing client base. Brand recognition, security, and function were key on their requirements list with Schedule and Budget being the top of mind. Truspace worked through the conceptual design, final design, permitting, and construction with the client ensuring the client’s budget and schedule were maintained.
With the client managing multiple locations across Canada and a specific project budget to be maintained, this project would have been particularly challenging to manage utilizing the traditional design and construction method.
Truspace engaged with the key KEB Hana Bank managers in Ontario and British Columbia to ensure their needs were clearly understood. Our Design and Construction teams collaborated continually to ensure the client’s expectations were met throughout the project.
Interesting design elements including accent walls, architectural trim, designer light fixtures, and finishes were carefully selected to create an inviting atmosphere while maintaining brand presence. The new space was completed on time and within 0.02% of the initial projected cost budget.
